Direct

You will be prompted for the following:
  • Different Resource (optional)
  • Different Owner Branch (required)
  • Different Handling Branch (required)
The following will occur:
  • The File's Resource will be changed to the Resource code specified, if any
  • The File's Owning Branch will be changed to the Branch code specified
  • The File's Handling Branch will be changed to the Branch code specified
  • A Note will be added to the File recording the actions that took place
Comment: This type of transfer will cause the Claim to retain the same file #, however internally it would be assigned to the other Office.

Append to Existing File

You will be prompted for the following:
  • The File Number of the File to which you want to Append
  • A flag indicating whether to set the current File to "No Claim / No Fee"
The following will occur:
  • File-based data will be transferred to the destination File Number. This data will no longer appear on the source file. The data includes:
    • Clients
    • Notes - all except the INCIDENT note
    • Names
    • Documents
    • Unbilled T+E - If the Billing Currency of the destination File is different than that of the source file, then all transferred T+E will be re-rated.
    • Reserves - If the Reserves Currency of the destination File is different than that of the source file, then all Reserve Transactions will be re-rated.
    • Diary entries
    • Eforms
  • If you check mark the "Set current File to (No Claim / No Fee)" checkbox, then the source File will be set to be "Closed" and will be set to be a "Potential" File. "Potential" files are not billable. This can be set back to "Standard" at any time.
  • A Note will be added to the source File and the destination File, recording the actions that took place
Comment: Under this scenario, the other office would have already created a file and you are transferring all data onto it.
